I’ve been around these parts since 1955 and Dunsmuir’s Hedge Creek Falls has long been rumored by my older relatives to have been one of Black Bart’s favorite hide-outs between stage coach robberies.  It’s one of my favorite, free places to visit with my daughters (5 & 12).

Just take the Dunsmuir Avenue/Siskiyou Avenue exit from Interstate-5.  Turn to the north onto Dunsmuir Avenue and immediately turn into the fall’s parking area next to the south-bound off-ramp’s chain link fence.  An easy hike for young & old…

    Alan…Black Bart…even though the old dude was dastardly, had a lot of class and finess had a cool choice of places to go. These falls are spectacular.
