Official word on Andy Green: Gone

Andy Green retired from his management job with the Redding Convention Center on Friday, said his boss, Gerry Kersten, the city’s support services director. However, Kersten said that Green signed the paperwork Monday afternoon that finalized the Convention Center manager’s decision to retire and leave the position he’d held for five years. Last week you heard it here first when I reported Green was MIA, confirmed in the first sentence of his own Out-of-Office AutoReply “I will be out of the office indefinitely.” Pretty blunt message. At the time, I reached Green on his cell phone and he characterized his situation as of a personal nature.
Monday, Kersten said he was not at liberty to discuss the particulars of Green’s situation, nor was he sure about the fate of Green’s vacated position.
“We need to figure out how to move the organization forward,” Kersten said Monday afternoon. “We’ll reassess”
By late Monday night, Green still had not returned messages left on his personal e-mail and cell phone.

Hello,
I was wondering if you have thought about adding a local
high school area sporting page to your site. High school sports are extremely popular to all whom attend or just trying to read something (anything) about their favorite team in the local paper. I’m sure one or two students from all the local schools would write action stories from the latest games. Just a thought.
Thanks, Dennis

Good idea, Dennis. (Do any readers out there have any other thoughts on this?)

I think it’s a very promising idea too. One way to quickly get started, would be to use the forums. Any volunteers to moderate a pilot forum on the sport/school of their choice?
